FreedomWorkshop used to be free. However, I spent most of my time fighting spammers and viagra ads, posted all over the forums. By asking people to pay a small one time membership fee, that problem was utterly eradicated.

Additionally, I first set up FreedomWorkshop because I have a genuine interest in the topics listed on the forums. I have also spent many hours, days and weeks, taking photos of the skies and creating videos for YouTube. However, this takes a lot of time and the camera equipment I am using is lacking. So by asking members to pay a small one time membership fee, it will help to purchase better equipment so that better quality photos and videos can be created.

So I ask all members to pay a $20.00 membership fee, which greatly helps FreedomWorkshop. Plus, to encourage all members to refer even more members, FreedomWorkshop pays 50% commission on referrals. Every cent helps to get the equipment FreedomWorkshop needs, and everyone's contribution is greatly appreciated.

Nevertheless, I do understand that there are some people who simply cannot afford even $20.00 - and I do not want to leave anyone out.
