Hi everyone, i already introced myself on other threads but i thought it would be appropriate to give more information about me to all of you so that you understand where i am coming from

I was born in the Province of Quebec Canada, i am a Frencophone Canadian who became FrEnglishized with time so i speak in tongues, French and English simultaneously at home, me and my wife are biligual and married before the Lord!  Cheesy

I was raised roman catholic but very soon in life, i felt something was wrong with the hypocrisy of the clergy telling us about what sort of life in humility Jesus led and which was contrasting also with the riches of that church but to make a very long story short, i stopped going to church a long time ago, i was going to church only at Christmas and Passover and when someone died or got married or baptism of children but the further away i could stay from the priests, the better i felt.

The Lord approached me some 20 odd years ago by means of using relatives who hade joined the Pentacostal church, my relatives made fun of them, thinking they were in a sect, we saw them as Bible freaks and i tried to get them out of what i thought was a sect but they had a bunch of arguments, anyways, i ended up leaving them one night and as i was driving, i prayed out loud to Jesus saying that i wanted to know Him personally but as long as it wasn't in a man made religion, i hated religion. Think the Lord heard my prayer and knew my heart at 20 years old was more attracted to the world than tio His Word so He let me go hurt myself in this world knowing full well i would respond positively to His calling at 41, 3 years ago, i had to grow up...

I was an alcolic, a smoker, an emotional wreck and junkie, an overeating addict and a porn addict so there is my confession before you, in only 3 years, the Lord has delivered me from my chains that i could not see and is changing me more and more every day, He also gave me a huge hunger for Him and for His Word that i cherish, me and my wife(her name is Line(French for Lynn)) are in full time ministry and we teach the Word of God on the internet as we try to reach the lost in the French speaking world, your prayers would really be appreciated on this matter by the way, we are not in this for money nor gain, we simply and sincerely want people to be saved, the Lord meets our every needs.

So that's pretty much what i can say for now, the Lord gives so much that it is impossible to outgive Him so praise His Holy Name, i am just glad i found you guys and gals on here, i truly sense in my heart that we are here by Divine appointment for a specific task and i look forward to serve the Lord with all of you, In Jesus Name

Your brother Serge

Thanks for this Serge.

Hey, over the years I have befriended a LOT of FORMER Catholics, they became Pentecostals or Evangelicals.

I have one friend I am praying for, to come out of it....I am sure that there are others, also.

I have met some really nice Catholics, though...over the years, too. I even went to talk to a Nun once, that was amazing.

Hi Zena, nice to meet you! Grin

everyone is important for God and God will deliver who He wants from false doctrines. I have heard a former catholic priest and 1 former catholic bishop who used to be in a postion of voting the poPes in their seats and they have left the vatican and are now getting priests out of that religion invented in 325 AD. Praise God!

That said, we have a lot of work to do to get the religiosities out of the Church and also the vain things of this worls out of the Church as well, i believe the Church is where 2 or 3 are gathered in His Name, the early chuch was gathering in the homes, the message was not so complex as we make it today, i believe it was pretty much a message of Stay in the Word, pray, repent, stay close to God and trust Him, not man, the one accord one mind of the book of Acts was probably morereal than what we see in our big congregations today so we got a huge challenge in front of us if we are called to do the Great Commission of Matthew 28:19-20.

Nice to see another Canadian here.  My father is from Quebec.

I recently read a book called "The End of Religion" by Bruxy Cavey that goes along with what you spoke about religion.  Religion was used to reach God in the Old Testament, but Jesus came to replace that and it was dilusional man that killed Jesus in the name of religion.

Welcome to the board.

Thanks for the welcoming words Nexus, is your father a francophone like me?

I never heard of Bruxy Cavey but it sounds interesting, yep, religions are man's attempts to get right with God and every day i am reminded how God is so faithful to forgive. Some would give me the label of Fundie but as someone who takes God's Word very seriously, i would define myself as a litteralist ie that i let the Word speak, taking it all litterally and when i do encounter an allegory, a metaphor or any of the numerous litterary devices of Scriptures, i understand that it still conveys a litteral truth. For example, when John the Baptist called Jesus the Lamb of God....John was certainly not calling Jesus an animal, the litterary device conveys the litteral truth that Jesus is the blameless lamb that will atone for the sins of mankind and man-made religions of churchianity cannot replace that in any manner whatsoever, and praise the Lord for that, we can then rest in Him as Matthew11:28 suggests by Jesus's own words as He becomes our rest.

Best
